Adobe Project Lightroom Beta for Windows

Professional photographers can implement a new management tool in their digital imaging workflow. Adobe Lightroom is a public beta released signed Adobe Systems Inc. available for both Windows
and Macintosh platforms. "Project Lightroom is Adobe's effort to engage the professional photography community in a new way, giving you the opportunity to kick the tires and shape the feature set of a new tool being created just for you. Ultimately, we want Lightroom to be truly built from the ground up by photographers, for photographers, helping solve your unique workflow challenges," states Adobe.

The application aims at offering management solutions for large volumes of photography including common features as import, selection, development, showcase and print structured in a manner that would help expedite such routine tasks shifting the focus on perfecting, retouching and processing images. Adobe has not revealed as yet price details.

"A significant number of professional photographers operate on the Windows platform, and Adobe Lightroom beta is designed to support their workflow needs," said Kevin Connor, senior director of product management for Digital Imaging at Adobe. "We have over 3,000 beta testers actively participating in our Lightroom beta for Macintosh forums and we're looking forward to extending this invaluable dialogue to the Windows community. Cross-platform support gives us the unique opportunity to incorporate feedback from the entire photographic community, ensuring that everyone can participate in the beta process."
