Just like its competitors Microsoft and Oracle, Adobe will start updating products according to a very precise schedule, and this program should start sometime next year.

Adobe will start the scheduled patch launch program at an unknown date but it is certain that it will be a monthly update system, according to Adrian Ludwig, manager of security software engineering at Adobe. Apparently, the company decided to apply this system so that its users will no longer be surprised by updates.

Adobe's products are very popular, Adobe Reader and Macromedia Flash Player most of all, which are installed on the majority of Internet-connected PCs. With Adobe finally acquiring Macromedia, a new set of essential tools was added to an already generous and tempting offer Adobe had.

Microsoft releases its fixes every second Tuesday of the month, and Oracle releases its updates on a quarterly basis. As for Adobe, nothing is certain yet in terms of when will the company issue the first patch and what day of the month it will pick to continue the scheduled updating system.
