This is indeed true and has been going on for some time. I would question the fact that this is a social engineering attack as, deceptive as it may be, conventional methods would tend to be initiated by the attacker, whereas the victim in this case would be looking for something and not "minding their own business" so to say.

It is only in cases where innocent users of shared computers become victims from these attacks that I have sympathy for the victim. People who use such software are intending on breaking the law by infringing copyright.

These sorts of attack are not confined to the keygenerator designed by macROSS for Adobe CS3, but are spread across various pieces of software, P2P networks and malicious websites.

If you are reading this and you have used such software, don't be lulled in to a false sense of security by the anti-virus or firewall you may have installed on your computer. Modern more-sophisticated trojans are designed to stop/corrupt/disable such software, sometimes without it even being evident. Hardware firewalls (such as those on routers) are ineffective againt reverse connection software. I'm not going to give advice as to how to protect yourself. Don't be a knock off Nigel, buy the software and stay out of trouble.

Or just get gimp its free and photoshop is full of crap anyway to be wasting you time try to crack it.

I use GIMP and find I like it much better than the Adobe products. It doesn't have EVERYTHING that Photoshop has, but it's a great runner up. I think it's easier to use, and there are a lot of brushes and scripts out there available for free download to fully customize GIMP to your tastes. If you're wanting free software, GIMP is for you. If you want Photoshop, go buy it, for crying out loud!

Yeah GIMP is not as good as photoshop, but at least is easier to use i guess.

I've used GIMP, and I actually think it's HARDER to use than Photoshop! I've been playing around with various editions of Photoshop ever since I was 12 years old, and I can do pretty much anything I want to do with it. But with GIMP, I have to practically fight with the program just to do even the most rudimentary of tasks. Now I'll admit that Photoshop may not be the most user-friendly program in the world, but it's light years ahead of GIMP.

I make 22 South African Rands (dollars) a week and have no family to cost me more. I wish to make adobe CS3 software purchase someday but might will never be to afford such a luxury. I must buy that food to eat some little bit. i think i must not be worthy to own such a beautiful Cs3 programs as a poor man. I have many ideas to make good movie but must maybe never own such a best one. I have a veri good use of free donated computer with some video card upgrade to run such a programs. How do a good man to get such good adobe programs that cost so very very much and still be good to all people? sorry for bad talking! :-)
