Today, Adobe has rolled out a new update for Photoshop CC 2014, implementing a new series of options, as well as support for more 3D file formats.

Basically, Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 15.1 integrates expanded 3D printing support, which, according to the official release notes, allows you to create print-ready 3D files for a broader range of printers and service providers.

“Photoshop now supports the fifth generation MakerBot Replicator 3D printer and Japanese online 3D printing service DMM.com,” Adobe explains.

At the same time, the new version also comes with support for more 3D file formats, including VRML, U3D, PLY, and IGES, but also with better integration with CAD workflows and improved support for 3D scanners.

Last but not least, Adobe says that this new version of Photoshop includes optimized 3D printing resources, and 3D printing workflow improvements.

“Load assemblies in Photoshop. Add depth and texture to surfaces more easily with normal maps and bump maps made from pictures. Get more accurate previews and higher fidelity mesh repair,” the official release notes provided to us today reveal.
