No more waiting for new features as they are streamlined when ready

Starting this June Adobe will no longer be offering the applications in Creative Suite as standalone products but only as part of the Creative Cloud, a subscription-based service available for $49.99 (approx. 38.22 EUR) per month.

Members of the Creative Cloud will have access to an updated Photoshop quite early, about six months after the previous major upgrade. The fresh release will include improvements touching on the sharpening process, upsampling and reducing blur.

The Smart Sharpen filter has been refreshed with new editable options that can help achieve richer textures, crisper edges and clearer details. Noise effect can now be easily reduced from the dialog of this tool in order to produce better quality results.

Intelligent Upsampling permits enlarging images for various print sizes and preserve edge detail and sharpening, at the same time minimizing noise and artifacts specific to this procedure.

Blurred images on account of camera movement can now be repaired with Shake Reduction tool, which detects the path of the blur and restores the picture. Manually indicating the path of the blur is also possible.

The new Photoshop will still be available as a desktop application, but you will be receiving new features at a much faster rate as they can be streamlined into the product as soon as ready, thus eliminating the wait time specific to software release cycle.

The price for just the Photoshop Creative Cloud (no more Photoshop CS) app is $19.99 (15.29 EUR) per month if you get the annual plan and the benefits are same as before, plus 20GB of cloud storage. A free 30-day trial is also available, with just 2GB of cloud storage.
