Adobe Lightroom 4.2 is on the brink of reaching the stable stage of development as the company rolls out the first release candidate.

Besides introducing support for new cameras, the new revision focuses on tying the loose ends that have been detected up to now. The most significant glitches refer to stacked photos becoming hidden in both the Grid view and Filmstrip, errors when publishing videos to Facebook through the Facebook Publish Service or impossibility to edit JPEGs in Photoshop Elements.

On the same note, photos were exported with original GPS coordinates recorded by the camera, not with the GPS coordinates updated in Lightroom. On Windows 7, audio did not play in video files after creating a slideshow with a soundtrack.
