A new iOS application is available from the people behind Photoshop. Adobe EchoSign aims to provide an easy, fast and secure way for you to sign documents and send documents for signing right from your iOS device.

EchoSign, the leading electronic signatures and signature automation service in the world, was acquired by Adobe in July 2011. It currently serves 50,000 customers worldwide, though Adobe says it’s been ‘used’ by roughly four million.

The service has become a key component of Adobe’s document exchange services platform.

According to the latest research done by Adobe, people are doing more and more business on their mobile devices and tablets.

So they decided to help people streamline their business processes and increase productivity by releasing EchoSign for iPhones and iPads.

“Now, you can easily get access to your EchoSign accounts and sign documents directly from your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices,” says the company.

Some of the app’s key features include the ability to send a document for legally-binding eSignature; send documents from an external source (such as an email attachment); get documents signed on the spot when you meet a signer in person; track the status of agreements with real-time status updates; and view signed agreements stored in your EchoSign account.

Jason Lemkin, Adobe’s vice president of Web business services and former CEO of EchoSign, believes “The enterprise is experiencing unprecedented adoption of tablets and mobile devices, presenting new opportunities to leverage cloud applications to streamline business processes and greater efficiency.”

“With the Adobe EchoSign app, we’re making it that much easier for organizations to incorporate Web contracting into their business models, allowing users to sign documents and send documents for signing right from their iOS device. The end result is a higher rate of contract completion in less time, leading to increased productivity,” said Lemkin.

The app is universal (suitable for both iPhone and iPad) and requires iOS 3.2 or later.
