Software giant Adobe announced today that it had made the Photoshop.com Mobile for Android 1.1 editor available for third-party application developers. The new solution enables developers to easily make it part of their applications, and it also offers quick and easy photo-editing and sharing capabilities to users of devices powered by Google's Android platform. According to Adobe, the new Photoshop.com Mobile for Android 1.1 is meant to enhance the experience users receive from their cameraphones by delivering a collection of new editing effects.

“Photoshop.com Mobile is the ‘go-to,’ photo editing application for iPhone and Android devices,” said Doug Mack, vice president and general manager of Digital Imaging and Rich Media Solutions at Adobe. “Unlike iPhone, the Android platform allows us to make the Photoshop.com editor broadly available to developers so they can provide it within any application they are working on. Photoshop functionality can then easily be accessed from an online auction, real estate or social media application so users can quickly fix photos and make them look their best, before being showcased.”

Adobe also announced that developers could access a new site that provided them with Adobe technology and which was meant to help them leverage the Photoshop.com Mobile for Android 1.1 editor while building their own applications. Users of Android devices will benefit from advanced mobile photo editing features and capabilities, including Vibrant, Pop, Soft Black and White, Warm Vintage, or Vignette Blur, White Glow and Rainbow. Moreover, one will also be able to undo the changes made to a photo, which enables users to apply effects while keeping the original safe, Adobe notes.

The new Adobe Photoshop.com Mobile for Android 1.1 solution is available as a free download for all users that can access the Android Market. Those interested in downloading the application will simply have to fire up the Android Market on their handsets, and then search for photoshop.com.
