Adobe Flash Player has just received another beta update this morning, so all supported platforms that are running the preview version of the software right now should check for new builds as soon as possible.

Adobe Flash Player 14.0.0.126 Beta comes with quite a long list of improvements, including not only new features, but also bug fixes and other optimizations that are in the end supposed to make the application as a whole faster, more stable and reliable on all operating systems.

The official release notes provided to us this morning, reveal that Adobe has specifically worked on adding Intel x86 Android support to AIR, while also implementing improved packaging engine for iOS.

“An ADT command line option (-arch) has been added to allow packaging apps with Android x86 support. Please note that only captive runtime packaging is allowed for x86 architecture that means all APK targets (apk, apk-debug and apk-captive-runtime) will forcibly packaged with captive runtime,” Adobe explained.

Another important part of this new release is the addition of AIR gamepad support, which basically allows Android mobile devices to play browser games developed in Flash on a second screen specifically implemented by developers.

“AIR Gamepad feature enables the app developers to provide a second screen on Android mobile devices for the Flash based browser games. AIR Gamepad API enables Flash based browser apps to connect to a paired Android device running the AIR Runtime app and therefore allowing the Android devices to be used as game controllers or second-screen interfaces,” Adobe said.

The Flash Player itself also received tons of improvements, most of which are aimed at Windows 8 and newer OS versions released by Microsoft.

For example, Flash Player is now capable of recovering from a graphics driver reset, improves performance of video blitting on DirectX 11 systems in portrait mode, reduces power consumption during video playback in portrait orientation, and fixes issues experienced when trying to play Angry Birds on Facebook.

As you can figure out by simply having a look at the original version of today's release, the app is still part of the beta development channel, so a number of bugs or other performance issues could still be experienced, no matter the platform that you're using right now.

But overall, all these improvements definitely come in handy, especially to Windows 8 users as they're supposed to address bugs found on this particular OS version, so download Adobe Flash Player 14.0.0.126 Beta right now to get enhanced performance and stability.
