The digital experience offered through Adobe’s platform just got richer with the latest versions of Flash Player and AIR. With the new releases developers should be able to deliver great quality cinematics in both browsers and applications.

The key element for the improvement is the new model for 2D and 3D rendering, Stage 3D, developed by Adobe. Compared to Flash Player 10 and AIR 2, the rendering performance of the new releases is up to 1,000 times faster.

For mobile platforms (Android, iOS and BlackBerry Tablet OS) the company plans a production release with support for Stage 3D.

Native 64-bit support is now present for operating systems and browsers on Linux, Mac OS and Windows.

The current feature list for the latest Flash Player and AIR developments aims at helping developers create apps that encode higher quality video locally using the H.264 video standard.
