We already mentioned that Adobe had quit making Flash for mobile devices and, sure enough, things didn't stop there, as Adobe just decided to drop TV flash as well.

Whether or not this is an indication that Flash player will totally disappear eventually, it is clear that TVs won't see much of it anymore.

Adobe will continue to support existing licenses that plan to keep Flash Player for web browsing through TVs.

Still, the company is dropping the part of its Open Screen project that sought to make Flash a typical part of HDTVs, smart or otherwise.

Google might have to revise its Google TV platform, since it relies on flash for the 'complete' browsing experience.

Either way, Flash player just didn't convince enough people that it was a useful enough addition to this Smart TV field, like it failed to catch on on the mobile front.
