Adobe Creative Suite 5 Available Now

Adobe has announced that the latest version of its flagship product, the Creative Suite 5, is now shipping after having been launched earlier this month. The product should be hitting stores and online outlets, so you can finally get your hands on the anticipated release. Adobe CS5 is available in several flavors, depending on the bundled product. The Master Collection comes with all 15 point products available in CS5 and will retail for $2,599.

“We’ve seen from early customer reaction that Creative Suite 5 continues to inspire the design and developer world by combining time-saving workflow and productivity features with astonishing new capabilities, such as Content-Aware Fill in Photoshop CS5, that really push the creative envelope,” John Loiacono, senior vice president of Creative Solutions at Adobe, said.

“Whatever the media, CS5 is ensuring that publishers and creatives can deliver stand-out work and build great businesses around their unique digital assets and content.”

Adobe CS 5 comes 18 months after CS4 was released and brings 250 new features among all the products included. Enhancements and improvements should be noticeable across the board and go beyond the few features that have been touted so far, like the impressive Content Aware fill in Photoshop CS5.

With CS5, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects will get 64-bit versions for both Windows and Mac, which should help with performance and compatibility. Also, Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 can make use of the hardware acceleration in NVIDIA GPUs for a significant improvement in responsiveness and performance.

The Creative Suite 5 is also the first to get integrated with the Adobe CS Live set of products enabling users to share their work online and collaborate easier. CS5 customers will get free access to Adobe CS Live for a limited time. The Adobe Creative Suite 5 collections and individual products are already available for purchase on Adobe’s online store.
