Today, Adobe announced the launch of Adobe Connect 8, a new version of their web conferencing solution, which is based on Adobe Flash Player, and which was designed to deliver effective and engaging Web meetings, online training and webinars.

According to the software giant, the new solution was delivered with support for multiple devices, including handsets and mobile devices.

“Based on Adobe Flash Player, the latest version provides enterprises and governments broad capabilities for powering rich experiences across multiple devices, while maintaining easy, reliable meeting entry,” Adobe notes in a recent post on its blog.

Among a wide range of new features and capabilities, there is also one that should interest mobile phone users in particular, namely the inclusion of Adobe Connect Mobile in the package.

The new “Adobe Connect Mobile enables participants to view meetings on mobile devices. Adobe Connect Mobile works on Apple iPhone and iPad, as well as Google Android and other mobile devices enabled with Adobe Flash technology,” the software giant notes.

The company delivered Adobe Connect 8 to the market with a simplified interface for greater usability, while also packing it with better collaboration capabilities for sharing ideas, along with enhanced audio and video integration so as to improve the multimedia experience the solution can deliver.

At the same time, Adobe Connect 8 comes with a software development kit (SDK), and with support for a range of mobile devices to further expand the extend reach and enhance productivity.

With Adobe Connect Mobile, users would be able to attend meetings on the Apple iPhone and iPad, as well as on devices running under the Google Android operating system.

Moreover, the company notes that its solution is compatible with other devices enabled with Adobe Flash technology too.

“Adobe Connect Mobile enables convenient meeting access from a variety of mobile devices, such as the Apple iPad, Apple iPod touch, Apple iPhone, as well as a host of Google Android devices running Adobe Flash and Adobe AIR,” Adobe notes.
