Following today's Lightroom update, Adobe also updated their Camera Raw plug-in for Photoshop CC and CS6 to version 8.3.

Besides a few bug fixes meant to increase its stability, Adobe Camera Raw adds a few new automation options designed to streamline your work even more.

Among them, we can find the new Auto Straighten feature that can help you straighten your pictures with a push of a button.

There are three ways in which you can straighten your images: double-clicking on the Straighten Tool button icon in the toolbar, double-click anywhere on the image preview with the Straighten Tool selected or by pressing the command key (on Mac) or control key (on Windows) to temporarily switch to the Straighten Tool when the Crop Tool is selected.

If you don't know how to use the Levels tool, with the new version you can benefit from the Auto Levels-like function that allows you to setup Whites and Blacks via shift-double-click on the sliders.

If you own an Olympus camera (including OM-D, STYLUS and XZ series), you should know that the new Camera Raw v8.3 adds 19 new camera-matching color profiles.

In addition to that, the new Camera Raw version comes with added support for 20 new camera models including Nikon Df, Nikon AW1, Casio EX-10, Fujifilm XQ1 and X-E2, Nokia Lumia 1020, Olympus OM-D E-M1, Panasonic GM1, Sony A7 and A7R as well as Canon's latest mirrorless camera model, the EOS M2.

Furthermore, Camera Raw v8.3 is now supporting 19 new lens profiles that will help you correct distortion and chromatic aberrations with a push of a button. Some of the lenses worth mentioning are: Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM, TAMRON SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD A011E, Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 58mm f/1.4G, Sony 70-200mm F2.8 G SSM II, Sony FE 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 OSS as well as a profile for Apple's iPhone 5s.
