Owners of devices running under Google's Android operating system now have at their disposal a new series of applications coming from Adobe, namely the Adobe Touch Apps.

The applications included in the new suite are inspired by Adobe Creative Suite software, and are aimed at offering professional-level creativity capabilities to users of tablet PCs running under Google's Android operating system.

The apps included in the package are: Adobe Photoshop Touch for image editing; Adobe Collage for moodboards; Adobe Debut for presenting and reviewing creative work; Adobe Ideas for sketching; Adobe Kuler for exploring color themes; and Adobe Proto for website and mobile app prototyping.

The new applications have been released today for all devices running under Android 3.1 or higher, after being officially introduced at MAX 2011 in October. These mobile applications will also arrive on iOS soon.

Moreover, the new applications are meant to be part of the Adobe Creative Cloud initiative that the company plans on kicking off in the first half of the next year to foster creativity all around the world.

Files that have been created using the Adobe Touch Apps will be shared and viewed on devices courtesy of Adobe Creative Cloud, while being transferable to the Adobe Creative Suite for further enhancements.

Adobe Touch Apps will transform how people use tablets – from mere consumption devices to vehicles for expression and creativity,” said David Wadhwani, senior vice president and general manager, Digital Media Business Unit, Adobe.

“Our touch apps will be a key component in Adobe's full Creative Cloud offering, coming in 2012.”

All six applications have been added to the Android Market today with the price tag of $USD9.99 each. They are available in all markets around the world, for all tablets packing displays of 8.9 inches and delivering a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.
