Adium, the free instant messaging application for Mac OS X, has been updated to version 1.3.2, switching MSN implementation to Libpurple's recent addition of MSNP15. Besides a new “Bookmark Group Chat,” the “File Transfer” icons and some localization updates, the release mostly packs bug fixes.

Developed by Adam Iser and Evan Schoenberg, Adium is a fast, fun, and free instant messaging client that supports most existing IM protocols. It replicates many of the features (and the look) of Apple's own IM client, iChat.

Adium combines an array of IM protocols such as AOL Instant Messenger (including ICQ and .Mac), Jabber (including Google Talk), MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, Novell Groupwise and Lotus Sametime. Adium gives you the possibility to connect with multiple types of accounts at the same time, combining all your friend groups into one big list. Supported buddy icons include AIM, MSN, and Yahoo!. The free IM app boasts a customizable appearance that blends with the Aqua interface perfectly.

With the release of Adium 1.3.1 last month, the development team has squashed almost two dozen bugs, adding a few tweaks and enhancements as well. Updated localizations were also included in the 1.3.1 release, for Update Danish, German, and Hungarian. Before releasing Adium, 1.3.1, Adam Iser and Evan Schoenberg included a complete redesign of the Contact Inspector (in Adium 1.3.0), also adding a new search field in the Standard Contact List window and a Facebook Chat service.

Adium 1.3.2 further patches some holes discovered since the last release, while new additions include a “Bookmark Group Chat” and “File Transfer” icons, while MSN implementation has been switched to Libpurple's recent addition of MSNP15. The full changelog is right here, for who's interested in the list of bug fixes.

Adium is free to download, as is using it on your Intel or PPC Mac. Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) is required to run the IM client. You can get the latest version of Adium here, on Softpedia.

B.S
nothing can be called an MSN replacement as long is does not include audio/video conferencing ,just another AIM under different name ,stack it with the rest of its kind in the hall of shame .
save yourself the download time and just use the webmessneger version instead.
