A new revolution strikes the world of tennis these days. Adidas, the main supplier of sports equipment for top players in both the ATP and WTA competitions, has sued the All England Club, who sponsor Wimbledon tennis tournament.
The legal dispute has started over the latest rulings of tennis officials, which state that the Adidas logos should be resized in order to appear on the players'
shirtsleeves. Otherwise, the logos will not appear at all.
That's no news though in the world of tennis, since many lawsuits have been striking it over the years. But here's the best part. Some of the All England Club members are tennis players. And not just any players. Martina Hingis, Andre Agassi, Roger Federer and Tim Henman are just a few names. And, as if it weren't complicated enough, it gets even worst for some of them.
Take Henman for example. Four time semifinalist at Wimbledon, he is also sponsored by Adidas. So, as a result of the legal measure taken towards the AEC, Henman will be sued by his own sponsor.
Although the AEC have sent a motion to Adidas, letting them now about these facts, and requesting that the players should not be part of the lawsuit, Adidas has not yet responded. Even though they had a grace period till 26th of June, Adidas already started the legal actions against AEC.
