Despite the inherent polluting potential of plastic, the material, and its many variations, continues in his role as primary substance used in the crafting of products and product frames. Adesso decided to go a bit off-script, however, when it made its newest peripherals.

You see, instead of sticking exclusively to plastic, and only using metal for the electric parts and screws, the company decided to make its newest keyboard and mouse out of stainless steel.

Not completely, since the keyboard's keys are still made of plastic, and so is the top side of the mouse for that matter, but their bodies consist in great part of steel.

The full name of the product bundle is, thus, the Adesso SlimTouch 1200, the 2.4 GHz RF Wireless Stainless Steel Keyboard & Mouse Combo.

The core assets of the newcomers can be deduced from just reading the name alone. The 2.4 GHz RF obviously means that 2.4 GHz radio waves (Wi-Fi) are used for the link between the keyboard/mouse and whatever PC you may own.

Of course, you should be able to use the products with a Smart TV, or even a normal TV, as long as there is a USB port where the receiver(s) can be plugged in.

The Adesso SlimTouch 1200 keyboard has 103 keys, including 12 hotkeys. The numpad is present, but the delete and page up/down keys are squeezed above it instead of taking up the gap between the numpad and the main key set. The gap is absent in fact, but Adesso still found room for the arrow keys.

Not that they are that important these days, with games using WASD more than they do the arrows on the right-hand side.

Anyway, the slim metallic base of the SlimTouch 1200 keyboard is easier to clean, as well as more durable than regular plastic. Also, better than average comfort is provided by the Scisson-Switsh technology, which also makes typing faster and more comfortable. The switches last for 6 million strokes.

All in all, the Adesso SlimTouch 1200 keyboard measures 335 x 110 x 4.5 mm / 14 x 4.3 x 0.2 inches and weighs 350 g / 0.77 pounds.

As for the mouse, it measures 76 x 117 x 38 mm / 3 x 4.6 x 1.5 inches, weighs 0.18 pounds / 82 grams, has a 1,00 DPI Optical sensor (decent but not groundbreaking) and 2 AAA batteries. Both peripherals have a range of 10 meters / 30-33 feet and sell, as a package, for $39.99 / €30 - 39.99.
