After canceling her US tour earlier this year, British songbird Adele is not improving. She's canceled all remaining appearances for 2011 and will undergo throat surgery to fix the problem, it has emerged.

At the beginning of the month, Adele announced she would have to push back once more her US tour after experiencing issues with her voice.

Said issues required that she be on complete vocal rest, which, to her disappointment, meant letting down her fans by canceling the shows.

AceShowbiz is now reporting that Adele's problems haven't seen an improvement, so she's forced to go under the knife for a solution.

She will be out of the spotlight (as far as touring and performing go, at least) for the entire duration of her recovery.

“Due to the continuing problem with her vocals, Adele decided to undergo throat surgery and take timeout for the rest of the year in order to recover properly and fully,” AceShowbiz writes.

“In doing so, she's forced to cancel all of the 2011 remaining concerts and promotional appearances,” adds the e-zine.

“The cancellation is under doctors' orders, and Adele won't be 'looking to schedule any work commitments' until she completely recuperates,” says the same publication.

On behalf of the singer, her people have apologized “for any inconvenience and disappointment caused, and appreciate your understanding during this time.”

Adele hasn't said anything yet bout the latest round of cancellations but, just days ago, she was photographed by the paparazzi out and about in London, looking very downcast.

It's not hard to understand why she's upset.

“singing is literally my life, its my hobbie, my love, my freedom and now my job. I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or i risk damaging my voice forever,” Adele wrote on her official blog at the beginning of the month, as we also informed you at the time.
