British singer Adele is breaking record after record with her latest album, “21,” and she couldn’t care less what people are saying about her weight. Or, as she says in her extensive interview for Rolling Stone

, she makes music for the ears, not for the eyes.

At just 23, Adele is definitely one of the hottest young artists of the moment. She’s also incredibly successful and has a special relationship with her fans because she’s the exact opposite of what we understand by pop star: she’s honest, she’s not picture-perfect, she’s funny and she’s relatable.

Speaking of her weight and how some have picked on it, saying she could stand to lose a few, Adele fights back: why should she? She loves fine foods and even finer wine, and she hates going to the gym.

“My life is full of drama and I won’t have time to worry about something as petty as what I look like,” Adele says for the music magazine.

“I don’t like going to the gym. I like eating fine foods and drinking nice wine. Even if I had a really good figure, I don’t think I’d get my [breasts] and [backside] out for no one,” she says with conviction.

Of course, she doesn’t mean by that that those pop stars who place a lot of emphasis on looks are doing something wrong, or that Adele hates them for doing so.

It’s simply not her style, she underlines.

“I love seeing Lady Gaga’s [breasts] and bum,” she says, trying to dispel the impression that she was criticizing or judging all those other female singers who dress in more provocative ways.

“I love seeing Katy Perry’s [breasts] and bum. Love it. But that’s not what my music is about. I don’t make music for eyes. I make music for ears,” Adele adds.

Indeed, if there’s anything to set Adele apart from other female performers, that’s not the fact that she’s curvier or her refusal to play the sensual card: it’s her voice and her music that make her different.
