14 DAY TRIAL // Adele may have been notoriously unlucky in love before, but that's changed since she met Simon Konecki, whom she's been dating for almost a year. The couple are now expecting their first child together.
Adele and Simon went public with their romance in January this year, but reports online indicate they'd been dating for some time before that too.
They are believed to have met and fallen in love sometime last summer.
Now, they're getting ready for parenthood, with the multi Grammy-winning singer taking to her official website to make the special announcement, thus getting ahead of the tabloids and glossies, who might have picked up on the story before she was ready to talk about it.
“I've got some news... I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together,” Adele tells her fans.
“I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx,” the singer further says.
That Adele wanted to be a mommy was no secret to her fans, especially since, not long ago, she told People magazine that she dreamed of having 3 boys by the time she was 30. She is now 24.
On the same note, in one of the interviews she gave this year, after sweeping the Grammys, she hinted she planned to go away for a few years to focus solely on her new relationship and perhaps start a family as well.
She later tried to downplay what she'd said, but hinting that her words had been somewhat taken out of context.
“I am [expletive]-ing off for four or five years. If I am constantly working, my relationships fail. So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy,” Adele said for Vogue, as we also reported at the time.
“And then I don't know what I'll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch,” she adds. Come on! I’m wifey material! I’m great. No one’s got to be brave,” she added.
Simon has been married once before and has a 5-year-old daughter from that relationship. Since he met Adele, they have been almost inseparable but, at the same time, very low key as well.
