Adele has been on time-out for a very long time, first because of health complications and then because she decided she needed a break while she focused more on her new family, her boyfriend and son. For some time, she’s been back in the studio regularly and it looks like she’s getting ready to make a huge announcement soon.

The other day, on her birthday (she turned 26 on May 5), Adele tweeted the photo above and the caption, “Bye bye 25... See you again later in the year x.”

The photo is not that relevant to the topic of her new album, serving only to help fans better appreciate Adele’s natural beauty and sense of humor. The caption is an entirely different matter, though.

Adele’s previous albums are “19” and “21,” released in 2008 and 2011, respectively. Fans must have realized already where I’m going with this: by saying “see you again later in the year,” Adele could be indirectly announcing that her third album will be called “25” and will drop later in 2014.

The Daily Mail, for one, is convinced this is the case. I tend to believe so too because Adele has always made very personal music, and naming her album after her age would make sense.

This would also mean that we won’t be getting any more heartbreaking ballads about lost love and that we should expect a lighter, more optimistic sound.

We’ll see.
