Limit Point Software has updated its software utility that allows Mac users to split or join movie files, but also to batch convert video content and more. The app costs 10 bucks to own, and can be tried out for free for 11 days (fully-functional).

According to the changelog, AddMovie 1.6.3 adds Japanese localization and fixes a bug that prevented movie URLs from being downloaded after dragged into the file list window on the most recent version of Leopard – Mac OS X 10.5.6.

Limit Point Software's AddMovie can concatenate several files into one single movie, or batch convert movies to other formats. It supports various input file formats, and even Apple's own QuickTime format. The output format is configurable, meaning you can also use AddMovie to convert movie file formats. If you want to take a video out of the house, just use AddMovie to convert it to 3GP for playback on your mobile phone.

Other functions, such as setting a movie's poster frame, are also available. A "poster frame" is a still image of a movie that represents the movie in places like the QuickTime Player Favorites window and the Finder, Limit Point Software Explains.

"The default poster frame is the first frame in the movie." To achieve the desired result, users must drag the playhead to a frame and click the "Set Poster" button."Saving a frame to an image file is also possible with AddMovie. Just move the playhead to the frame you want to save as an image, and hit 'Save Frame.'" Set a name and location for the file and you're done! To extract sound track into an AIFF file, users  can use the "Save Sound" feature built inside AddMovie. As with frame saving, you will be prompted for a save location.

AddMovie requires Mac OS X 10.4 and above. To download the software, use the link below.
