If you download Box for iOS right now, its developers will award you a hefty 50GB of free storage space as a thank you for choosing their service. The official iOS Box app also got a major update today.

“With 50GB of free storage, Box makes it easy to store, manage and work with all your files and documents wherever you are – on the web, from your desktop and on your iPhone and iPad,” says Box Inc.

The company brags that its app is being used by over 20 million users and 200,000 companies worldwide.

“Box for iPhone and iPad helps you get work done on the go. It's fast, secure and simple to use, so you can be productive from anywhere,” it adds.

Version 3.0.0 is a completely re-written app with new navigation tools and a redesigned interface.

It offers a new preview method for documents, photos, and videos, faster document rendering and photo loading, real-time search, and new sharing tools.

Bookmarks, and support for Apple’s AirPrint wireless printing technology are coming in a future update. Same goes for the ability to save videos from Box to your library.

The 50GB offer is notable, since rivaling cloud service Dropbox only offers newcomers a meager 2GB of free storage to get them started.

While Dropbox does provide ways to expand the storage associated with your account, getting to 50GB for free is next to impossible.

Box also offers additional perks via hundreds of Box OneCloud partner apps that let you annotate, create presentations, e-sign files, and more.

Box requires iOS 6.0 and any iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch device that can support the firmware. iOS 7 is also supported. The application is universal (meaning it works natively on both iPhone and iPad), and weighs in at 22MB.
