If you're still using a desktop email client, chances are you're using Mozilla Thunderbird. While it does not enjoy the popularity or the notoriety of Firefox, the email client has been serving millions of users for many years now.
One thing that's been missing all this time though is a calendar or a task manager feature. Enterprising users have found that the Lightning add-on does the job.
And now that
Lightning 1.0 is finally here, Mozilla is confident enough to promote it as part of its Mozilla Messaging project, which is comprised basically of Thunderbird.
"Lightning 1.0, the calendar Add-on for Thunderbird, is here. Over 1 million users already started using Lightning during its beta program and their feedback has helped us to make an even better calendar program," Mozilla
boasts.
If you're not confident enough to start using Lightning straight away, Mozilla has posted some resources to help you get started.
