TLC has recently premiered a new reality show, a spinoff on a controversial but already successful series, “Toddlers & Tiaras.” Called “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” it’s been slowly climbing in the ratings but there’s one man who’s ready to take a stand against it.

In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine went off on the show and its protagonists, Honey Boo Boo, her mother and her entire family.

As Levine sees it, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” stands for what is worst in Western civilization and, if he had a choice, he would probably send all its “stars” away in exile.

“Seriously, Honey Boo Boo is the DECAY of Western civilization. Just because so many people watch the show doesn’t mean it’s good,” Levine says for the publication.

He goes on to compare the new reality series with a natural disaster, the kind you can’t avert your eyes from.

“So many people witness atrocities and can’t take their eyes away from them, but that doesn’t mean they’re good. That show is literally The. Worst. Thing. That’s. Ever. Happened,” he explains.

“It’s complete [expletive]-ing ignorance and the most despicable way to treat your kids. [expletive] those people. You can put that in the magazine: [expletive] those idiots. They’re just the worst. Sorry, I’m so sensitive to that – like, I don’t know, man, it’s upsetting. Just to clarify, I said, ‘[expletive] THOSE PEOPLE’,” the singer rants.

Of course, he’s not the only one to believe that Honey Boo Boo and her show are the worst thing ever to air on television.

Still, though it’s controversial (or perhaps precisely because of that), it remains one of the most watched shows on the network, which means chances of being discontinued anytime soon are down to zero.

Once asked about the kind of criticism she and her family receives, June Shannon, Honey Boo Boo’s mom, said that she only wanted to offer viewers a slice of their life, such as it is. Who doesn’t like what they see can simply switch the TV off. Honey Boo Boo opted to just break wind for the camera and laugh.
