Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera premiere video for single “Moves Like Jagger”

They both promised an awesome video for their first collaboration ever, the single “Moves like Jagger,” and, as it turns out, they weren’t lying about it. The official vid for the single from Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera is out.

You can see it in full below, embedded at the end of the article.

In July this year, shortly after the duet was officially released, Christina and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine took to their respective Twitter accounts to tease about the clip, as we also reported at the time.

Terms like “awesome,” “androgyny” and “fun” were used a lot – and with just cause, as AceShowbiz also points out.

“Maroon 5’s ‘Moves like Jagger’ music video has made its way out. It features a lot of footage seeing Mick Jagger’s moves and shirtless Adam Levine. It also highlights Christina Aguilera doing what she does best, belting out the lyrics,” the e-zine says.

The video shows an audition for dancers who can rock out like Mick Jagger, regardless whether they’re men or women.

Footage of their auditions often cuts to show the real deal, Jagger doing his stuff on stage, in concert, back when he was younger.

The idea, Levine explained a while back, as cited by the aforementioned publication, is that no one can move like Jagger, no matter how hard one tries.

“[His moves are] a very carefully calculated, but slightly spastic, incredible rhythmic experience, in which all of your limbs and every bone in your body is moving at completely different times, and it’s impossible to re-create,” the singer said.

“Nobody has moves like Jagger, that’s kind of the point,” Levine added.

With all that, he too gives it a shot, busting a move and joining the other dancers in their attempt to move like Jagger.
