“Michael Jackson’s This Is It,” the documentary made of over 100 hours of footage shot during rehearsals for the O2 dates that never happened, premiered in Los Angeles the other night and, as expected, countless A-listers came to pay homage to the one that was and will always be the King of Pop. Among them
were also American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert and pop star Katy Perry, who walked the red carpet as a date.
And quite a stylish date they were. Dressed in black from head to toe, the two stars made what fashion critics call quite an impression on fans with their goth, glam looks. Perry wore a vintage Christian Lacroix with beads, lace and an intricate design, while Lambert kept it classy and cool in boots, skinny jeans, tie and jacket. What’s more important, the two also matched styles and not only colors.
“On my way to the THIS IS IT premiere w my lovely date Miss Katy Perry!! We are dressed!” Adam tweeted just hours before appearing on the red carpet at the movie premiere. Fans agree that it wasn’t just Katy Perry who was “lovely,” as both of them made a good impression on photographers and, implicitly, fashion critics. Not that Adam doesn’t know how to get himself in the good graces of the public, for that matter.
Also on Twitter, Adam revealed that the cover for his upcoming debut album, “For Your Entertainment,” had debuted on his official website, as we also
informed you earlier today. Since its release, the artwork has stirred quite a debate on the blogosphere, with critics agreeing that it’s simultaneously the most terrible and the most awesome cover ever released, for blending tacky, ‘80s-inspired elements to match Adam’s charisma and appeal with the public at large.
“More likely than not, Adam Lambert is actually an alien from a distant planet. Yes, that planet looks a little bit like it resulted from the collision of a Jem cartoon, The Neverending Story, Starlight Express, and K-Tel’s Power Glam Explosion […], but perhaps the extra-terrestrial has come to teach us something? Glam is back. Unicorns are real. And boring people are going to be zapped with giant lasers and turned immediately to dust.”
Music-Mix was saying of the recently revealed album cover. This goes to show that Lambert is never the one to content himself with being just a regular pop star.
