Here's something for the fans: Adam Lambert is open about doing a cameo on “Glee,” still considered one of the best shows now on television. He doesn't want to play a fictional character, though.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter about the show, which continues to do well in ratings even after so many seasons, Adam says he wasn't a fan from the start, but he's changed his mind about it in recent months.

Moreover, he wouldn't say no being a musical guest on one of the episodes but the problem is that no one has asked him yet.

Even if he doesn't get an invite, Adam still has only nice things to say about the show.

“ [It's] so cute. [It]really paints a picture of what it’s like to be an arts kid in high school. Glee is really irresistible – it's charming,” the singer says.

Asked why he never did a role for the show, Adam is honest: despite some rumors online about the possibility of such a collaboration, he was never officially approached by anyone to make it happen.

“I don't know, ask them. I think there were murmurs about it. Hopefully, maybe now that I have some new music, I could go on there,” he says.

He's referring to his brand new album, which drops in stores on March 20 this year. It's his second studio material since he came off American Idol as runner-up but true winner in the hearts of his millions of fans around the world.

Should producers ever approach him for a stint on “Glee,” Adam even knows what role he'd like to play.

“I want to just be me. Why do I have to be a fictional character?” he says in the same interview.

As noted above, Adam's second album is pending release. The first official single off “Trespassing” is, as fans must already know, the ballad “Better Than I Know Myself.”

It's been out for some time and Adam has just announced on his Twitter that the video for it will premiere on VEVO on January 30. Save the date.
