Adam Lambert has come a very long way since his days on American Idol. Perhaps one of the most famous contestants not to win the top prize, Lambert has released 2 solid albums in the meantime and got to tour with Queen, performing songs that were once performed by the legendary Freddie Mercury.

He is openly gay and would gladly lend his star power to a good cause, no matter its nature, and he is adored by millions of fans.

These fans should be happy to know that he has a new album coming out this year: his third studio release will be called “The Original High,” and Adam promised it would be different from his previous 2 outings.

Embedded below is a short Instagram teaser of the first single off the album, “Ghost Town.” It will be out on April 21, and will hopefully get a visual companion as well.

“The Original High” features work with producers Max Martin and Shellback, and is Adam’s first release since he signed with Warner Bros. Records.

“I think people are going to be really surprised. The album feels like a new era for me - emotionally, lyrically, sonically. It feels fresh, it feels new. It's still me. It's still stuff that fans know and love but it's a new chapter 100 percent,” he says about it.

This seems to translate into the teaser as well, doesn’t it?
