Adam Lambert fans prepare: the singer, who’s reached international fame thanks to American Idol, will return to the show for a live performance on March 10 – and, knowing Adam, it’s bound to be great.

Adam is releasing an acoustic version of “Aftermath,” one of the tracks included on his critically acclaimed and commercial successful debut album “For Your Entertainment.”

He will be performing it on the results episode of American Idol on Thursday, March 10. Shortly after the performance, the track will become available for purchase, Adam writes on his Twitter.

“Hey guess what?! I will be performing ‘Aftermath’ on American Idol on Thursday, March 10!” Adam writes to his 900,000+ fans and followers on the social networking site.

“Gonna take it down acoustic style. Then remix will be avail that day on adamofficial.com,” the singer further says.

Even more, the release of the song will be put to good use, with the proceeds going to charity.

“In order to fully benefit the Trevor Project, the remix will only be available on my site. Will be on iTunes eventually. :)” Adam explains why the song will be up for purchase on his website.

Since Adam first appeared on American Idol, he’s become one of the most popular artists of the day, with both fans and critics singing his praise for his obvious talent, versatility and relatability, especially on stage.

He’s also completed a sold-out tour, which earned raving reviews – again, if further confirmation was needed that he’s truly an artist and not just a “manufactured” pop star.

His live performances always surprise audiences in the most pleasant manner possible, since he manages to make every song sound different from the album version.

As such, it’s no wonder hype is already building up for his American Idol performance. Knowing him and his past performances, it’s bound to be an amazing one.
