Not long ago, Queen guitarist Brian May was saying that he had listened to the track American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert had recorded for the upcoming doomsday film “2012,” vouching the entire world would be blown away by the “sensational” song. According to Rolling Stone, May spoke the truth back then, as a teaser for the track surfaced online over the weekend also indicates.

There is little doubt at this point that Adam Lambert is poised for chart success, even when judging by the support he’s getting from the fan community alone. However, the waiting since the latest American Idol season ended until the release of the first Adam Lambert song won’t be in vain from a critical point of view either – and Adam himself has done all in his might to make sure his first release, “Time for Miracles,” for the “2012” score fits the bill.

“We wanted to match how epic the film is. We wanted to reach out and grab people by the heart. ‘Time for Miracles’ is a great song and perfectly fits the themes of the movie. I was thrilled to record this song for 2012 and I’m glad I had the chance to help create a unique sound for this movie.” Adam says of the song, as quoted by Rolling Stone. In doing so, this young singer managed to do more than just come out with a song, the same magazine says, as the Rob Cavallo-produced track, written by Alain Johannes Moschulski and Natasha Shneider, can very well become the next “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith.

“It’s safe to say the end of the world never sounded so uplifting, as Lambert’s vocals soar over a bed of strings and arena-rock guitars. […] ‘Time for Miracles’ yanks on the heartstrings like the theme from another massive doomsday movie, Aerosmith’s ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” from ‘Armageddon’ – a song that was nominated for an Academy Award and became one of the biggest hits of the band’s career.” Rolling Stone writes, based on the short teaser made available online.

Whether Lambert will move on to score an Oscar nomination with “Time for Miracles” or not is yet to be seen – “2012” is scheduled for release in US theaters this November. To make up your own mind as to what to expect from the song, check out the video below, which includes a teaser and Adam saying a few words about it.
