The second episode of The Tonight Show, featuring host Jay Leno, aired the other night and, as MTV can also confirm, it was a star-studded event. From Sarah Palin to Shaun White and Adam Lambert, guests came up on stage, did their thing and then left. Glam rocker Lambert closed the show on a high note, offering fans a beautiful rendition of his ballad “Sleepwalker.”

Written by Ryan Tedder, Aimee Mayo and Chris Lindsey and produced by Tedder, “Sleepwalker” is included on Adam’s debut album, the best-selling “For Your Entertainment,” released later last year. Dressed in his best glam outfit, complete with plenty of rhinestones on the jacket and matching ones on the eyebrows, Adam put on a typically rousing performance, working up the crowd into a near frenzy, judging by the screams heard in the background of the video below.

“The show ended with a performance from Adam Lambert, who sang the ballad ‘Sleepwalker’ from his debut, For Your Entertainment. With his hair swept up in a towering punk pompadour and his eyelids covered in sparkly dark eye shadow that accented his bedazzled black jacket, black pants and chain-draped riding boots, Lambert gave one of his typically hair-raising, impassioned performances of the rock song about chronic insomnia,” MTV says of the impressive performance.

Backstage, Adam spoke with Bryan, appearing moved when hearing fans had been waiting outside for him for many hours and some had even spent the night there. The singer thanked his fans from all over the world for their support, saying they should know he loves them all, and also talked a bit about his look for the night. Jay Leno also stepped in at one point to say he would win a hair competition, should anyone ever want to hold one. A video of the brief for the segment called “Backstage with Bryan” is also included at the bottom of this article.

Before leaving you to enjoy the videos, one final word from MTV. “While White came out to shake Lambert’s hand at the end of the show, Palin, a vocal opponent of gay marriage, did not,” the music oriented publication says. Whether she did it on purpose or it simply slipped her mind, we will probably never know. Enjoy.
