14 DAY TRIAL // Actress Gabrielle Union is set to be heading down the aisle after saying yes to her basketball boyfriend Dwayne Wade, when he popped the question. She happily posted the picture of the engagement ring on her Instagram, confirming the big news.
Union and her basketball-playing fiancée have been going out for four years and have decided to finally get off the market. The actress showed off her huge cushion cut 8.5-carat diamond ring on her Instagram and commented “Sooooo this happened...#Yessss.”
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat player was more formal in his announcement “She said YES!!!,” revealing that he had his fears and doubts like any man out there. This comment was attached to the same picture of the ring, posted on his Instagram. It seems the couple is very proud of their new relationship status as well as the ring.
While their relation wasn't very publicized, the two were never shy in publicly expressing their feelings toward each other. While on the Oprah Show last summer, Wade said about Union “The biggest time she makes my eyes sparkle is when Zaire [his 11-year-old son from a previous marriage] comes home and homework is a little hard that day, so he's stressing, and she goes to the table with him and she sits down until he gets it.”
This won't be the first time down the altar for Wade. He has been previously married to Siohvaugn Wade for eight years and fathered two children with her during that time.
The ex-wife was less than thrilled with the basketballer's new relation and filled a lawsuit against him in which she accused him of engaging in “sexual foreplay” with Union in front of their two sons. The case was dismissed in court and Wade said the claims were “meritless.”
A date for the wedding has yet to be announced.
