14 DAY TRIAL // Actress and model Estella Warren can be very dangerous when under the influence, if her DUI arrest of the other night is any indication to that. The star got drunk behind the wheel, smashed into 3 cars and then fled the scene of the accident.
And that was only the beginning, TMZ reports, citing police documents.
Warren, whose biggest role to date was in “Planet of the Apes,” turned very belligerent when she was apprehended by police, after she’d run from the scene of the crash, the e-zine says.
In fact, she was so belligerent she proved quite a challenge for officers, who had to catch her after she kicked a cop, got out of her handcuffs and escaped from custody.
“The crazy incident occurred Monday night just before midnight. Cops say Warren was driving in L.A. when she struck 3 parked cars in her Toyota Prius,” TMZ reports.
“Warren drove away but cops spotted her and placed her under arrest for driving under the influence, though not before she resisted and kicked an officer,” adds the e-zine.
She was taken to the police station to be booked – and the drama continued there.
“Warren was taken to the police station in handcuffs, and during the booking process she managed to get out of her handcuffs and then run out the back door! Warren was quickly recaptured,” TMZ says.
After police officers made sure there was no way Warren could flee again, she was booked for DUI, hit and run, assault and felony escape.
“She was really hammered,” a police source tells the e-zine when asked for an explanation for Warren’s odd behavior.
Bail for the actress was set at $100,000 – she was released nearly 15 hours after the incident. As of now, neither she nor her rep has addressed the much mediated arrest and the events around it.
