The highly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was sold early by some retail stores and the publisher behind the game has plans to take action against offenders and make sure that the situation is never repeated.

Peter Hepworth, a managing director at the United Kingdom division of Activision, tells MCV that, “We take street dates very seriously. The vast, vast majority has held the line. Everyone wants the big community event at midnight when the sales come through. I am aware of some exceptions.”

The executive adds, “We are looking at appropriate action. But we are pleased to say we have got the support of all of the retail partners, and they are not causing these issues.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is now available in both Europe and North America on the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the PC.
