Publisher Activision has announced that it is actively working to fix a number of problems that the player base has been reporting with the Call of Duty Elite service, which was launched on consoles alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the FPS title from Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games.

A Twitter message coming from the official Call of Duty Elite service reads: “Surge of new Elite registrations is creating reg & login issues. Teams are working now to increase capacity.”

The Twitter account has also encouraged players not to change their passwords and their options for the accounts and just wait for the problems to be solved.

The company is also assuring gamers that Elite is continuing to capture all the gameplay data linked to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and that all that information will be ready to be shown to the player when they manage to finally log in.

Dam Amrich, who is the main community liaison man working for publisher Activision, has also stated, “It's difficult to launch not only a giant game like MW3 but a huge, scratch-built service like Elite simultaneously - and try to do it worldwide.”

He added that the Elite team is working most nights to make sure that they solve the problems the service has as quickly as possible.

Elite is a companion to the main game and is not required to enjoy it, but allows those who love their multiplayer experience and want to improve it to get access to a number of statistics about how they play and get tips on how they might get better.

The Elite service also has a paid tier, which allows subscribers to get exclusive access to some content, get downloadable packages for free and get some more features linked to clans.
