Eric Hirshberg, the leader of the publishing division at Activision, says that annual launches for Call of Duty are demanded by fans and the teams working on the franchise are one of the reasons for its success.

He tells Eurogamer that “The cadence of the releases seems to have found a nice equilibrium with people’s appetite. There’s demand and excitement each and every time out. Then people are playing throughout the year. We have our biggest community of players today.”

Ghosts is set to be launched on November 5 this year worldwide on the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360, and the PC.

This is just two months after the launch of Apocalypse, the final piece of downloadable content launched for Black Ops 2.

Call of Duty can keep up with the annual launches because it has two very solid teams, Treyarch and Infinity Ward, who alternate developer duties.
