The team at publisher Activision in charge of the Call of Duty franchise says that the game has been played for no less than 25 billion hours since the first installment in the Modern Warfare series was launched.

Basically, players have been enjoying the first-person shooter for a longer total period than the human race has existed, according to CVG.

The infographic from Activision offers even more information about the history of the series, including the huge number of shots that have been fired in the game and the revelation that the care packages delivered can be used to build the pyramid of Giza 15,000 times over.

At the moment, Activision and developer Infinity Ward are putting the finishing touches on the Call of Duty: Ghosts, which is expected to be launched on November 5.

A reveal for the multiplayer side of the game is coming later today.
