Publisher Activision Blizzard says that 2012 has witnessed the best financial performance of its history, with net revenue that reached 4.86 billion dollars (3.94 billion Euro) for the 12 months that ended on December 31st.

Bobby Kotick, the chief executive officer at Activision, is quoted by VG247 as saying that, “With better-than expected net revenues, record operating margins and record earnings, and over $1.3 billion in operating cash flow, we continue to set the industry success bar.”

The best performers for the company are, at the moment, the Call of Duty series and the Skylanders franchise, which mixes toys and virtual experiences.

The company is cautious about the coming console generation and says that it plans to continue investing in upcoming titles like Blizzard-All Stars, the coming MMO from Blizzard and the new Destiny from Bungie.
