Activision Announces First-Person Shooter Walking Dead Game

Publisher Activision has announced that it is working with developer Terminal Reality on the development of a first-person shooter based on The Walking Dead television series that is airing on AMC.

The show is itself based on the comic book with the same name and the game will be focused on Daryl Dixon and his mother Merle as they are trying to get to Atlanta, which is supposed to be safe from undead menace.

The announcement from Activision states that, “No place is truly safe for Daryl as he makes his way through the Georgia countryside in this new, post-apocalyptic world.”

The main characters will have to either avoid the undead or take them on, but the announcement seems to suggest that sneaking and moving around unnoticed will be the easier route.

The Walking Dead video game will be launched in 2013 on the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the PC.
