The next flavor of Microsoft's mobile operating system, Windows Mobile 6.5, is set to become available on the market as soon as October 6, when a series of new handsets to sport it will make it to the shelves. Among them, we already spotted the Acer F1, a Snapdragon-powered phone, and now we learn that there will be three more devices coming from the same maker on that specific day, including the Acer E1, C1 and L1. In other words, Acer is poised to release four Windows phones in a little more than a week from now.

In case the rumor pans out, mobile phone users will have some quite attractive Windows Mobile 6.5-based handsets to choose from come October 6, and we're not referring here only to Acer's devices, but to those coming from LG, Samsung, HTC or Toshiba as well. The Windows phones from Acer seem to be great options too, with the F1 on top of the list, and with the other three following closely, clove notes.

When it comes to the specification list of the three handsets, one can easily see that the first two of them, E1 and C1, come with about the same capabilities. Thus, they both include a Qualcomm 7225 528MHz processor, 512MB of ROM and 256MB of RAM, a 3.2-inch WQVGA touchscreen display, a slim design, and a 2-megapixel photo snapper. Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR is also present with the two phones, yet their connectivity options show quad-band GSM with EDGE for E1 and quad-band GSM / dual-band HSDPA for C1. The final point on the list would be the Windows Mobile 6.5 platform, which should also include Internet Explorer 6.

As for the third handset on the list, the Acer L1, it also sports a Qualcomm 7225 528MHz processor and 512MB of ROM and 256MB of RAM, but it comes with a sliding numeric keyboard, a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display, a 3-megapixel photo snapper, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, and quad-band GSM / dual-band HSDPA connectivity options. Unfortunately, no details on the pricing of the three devices have surfaced so far.
