There are two main technologies that have been given the most attention over the past months. One is the already famous DirectX 11 graphics technology, which gives an entirely new degree of realism to 3D games. The second capability, namely multi-touch input, is more multimedia-oriented and it increases interactivity. Seeking to provide users with a laptop that is both performance-packed and interactive, Acer has brought along its Aspire 5738PG notebook PC at CeBIT.

The mobile personal computer is powered by the Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 central processing unit. This CPU operates at a frequency of 2.13 GHz, has a 1066 FSB and is paired with 4GB of memory. The notebook also has a hard drive, with a storage capacity of 500GB, as well as a DVD Super Multi DL drive, for optical storage and playing movies in DVD quality.

Of course, the new Acer Aspire needs a capable graphics adapter if it is to take full advantage of its 15.6-inch, HD, LED-backlit liquid crystal display. As such, the company has outfitted its laptop with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570. This card is already more than capable in its stock version, but Acer went as far as providing it with up to 2304MB of HyperMemory, so that it might run without any sort of difficulty.

As far as connectivity is concerned, the only capability listed on the spec sheet of the device is an Acer Nplify 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi module. Of course, the notebook likely has wired LAN and most likely Bluetooth as well. Lastly, the entire machine is powered by a six-cell Li Ion battery.

Extra features of the 15.6-inch mobile PC are a numeric keypad, HDMI connectivity and DOLBY home theater v3. Currently, it is unknown for how long this laptop will be able to run on a single battery charge, although the fact that it is Energy Star certified should give it a rather decent battery life.

The laptop will supposedly start selling soon, at a price of about 666 Euro, or $910.
