We first heard about the Iconia Tab A700 back in November, when the tablet was leaked by Acer in a document published on its website, and now the specifications as well as a few pictures of the slate made their way to the Web.
As
NoMobile.ru has found out about the A700, the
tablet is expected to be unveiled by Acer during CES 2012 with market availability being scheduled for March of the same year.
Those willing to wait that long for Acer’s creation won’t surely regret their decision as at the heart of the A700 lies an
Nvidia Tegra 3 system-on-a-chip (SoC) device featuring quad Cortex A9 processing cores.
These can be clocked at frequencies up to 1.3GHz, and
Acer has chosen to pair it with a 10.1-inch screen that has a whopping 1920x1200 resolution.
To the left and to the right of this high-resolution screen, on the tablet’s sides, Acer has installed SIM and micro-USB slots, a dedicated rotation lock switch, the usual volume rockers, an audio jack and a micro-HDMI output.
Acer’s tablet is also equipped with dual cameras, one front 2MP webcam with HD video support and a 5MP rear snapper with a built-in flash.
Other features include a microSD port, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and 3G connectivity as well as 9800 mAh battery pack, which Acer estimates it can deliver up to 10 hours of continuous video playback. All of these are packed inside a case which tips the scale at 650 grams (1.43 pounds).
No word on pricing just yet, but don’t expect this to come for less than $449 (347 EUR).
From what we know, the Iconia Tab A700 will be available in two versions, one of which being said to come without 3G capabilities.
