Acer and Toshiba aren't new comers to the Chromebook ecosystem and the companies have both introduced notebooks taking advantage of the Intel Bay Trail architecture this summer.

Now, both models have been made available for purchase and you can go ahead and add to cart any of the two versions.

The Acer Chromebook 11 goes on sale with the price-tag of $199 / €156 while the Toshiba Chromebook 2 will sell for a more expensive rate, which is explainable since it offers better options like a full HD display.

Now let’s see what these new Chromebooks bring to the table in terms of specs, so you might get an idea which one might suit your needs better.

Acer Chromebook 11

The Acer Chromebook is quite a standard Chromebook. It arrives with the standard 11.6-inch display and offers the classic 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. Under the hood lies an Intel Celeron N2830 Bay Trail processor fitted with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

Acer claims the laptop’s battery life can go as far as 8.5 hours on a single charge. Other specifications include HDMI output, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Acer’s latest Chromebook is 0.7-inches / 17 mm thick and weighs an acceptable 2.4 lbs / 1.08 kg.

If you want more power, you might want to wait up on Acer’s Chromebook 13, which takes advantage of NVIDIA’s Tegra K1 architecture.

We had the chance to handle the laptop at IFA 2014 and we can say the device moves exceptionally well. You can check our hands-on if you’re curious.

Toshiba Chromebook 2

Toshiba’s latest Chromebook addition goes on sale with a price ranging between $250 and $330 / €196 and €259. For the base price customers will be getting a 13.3-inch laptop with an Intel Celeron N2840 Bay Trail processor under the hood and fitted with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.

The cheaper version boasts the standard laptop resolution (1366 x 769 pixels) and should be able to deliver up to 11 hours of work time.

The more pricey version, bumps things up in the resolution department, where you now get FHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) and in the RAM department, where customers will be able to take advantage of 4GB.

The improved resolution will put a toll on battery life, so the more advanced version will be able to sustain just 9 hours of life.

The cheaper model is currently up for grabs, while the full HD version can be pre-ordered.
