Good news for Taiwanese customers wanting to purchase a Windows 8 tablet in the near future, especially if they are eyeing an Acer or an Asus product.

According to DigiTime’s sources from channel retailers, Asus and Acer are both considering slashing off prices for some of their Windows 8 tablets with an impressive 15-20%.

The Acer model that will likely get the discount treatment is the 8-inch Iconia W3. It comes packing an Atom Z2760 processor. Recent rumors seem to indicate that a successor to the W3 is coming very soon. Dubbed the W4, the slate has already been spotted at Intel events around Europe, so it may be the key to understanding the discount offered by Acer.

It’s expected that the price margin for the Acer W3 will drop below $338 / €250.

Asus is probably going to axe off the price on its 10.1-inch Windows 8 Vivo Tab ME400C tablet all the way down to around $475 / €350. A new 8-inch Windows 8 tablet is expected to roll out in October.
