Apparently, Acer and HTC do not plan on merging their operations, at least this is what Acer Chairman Stan Shih said recently.

According to him, Acer has no intention to merge with HTC Corporation, but it is instead focused on the development of a Build Your Own Cloud (BYOC) platform, a recent article on DigiTimes reads.

HTC has been through some rough quarters lately, with sales slowing down significantly and revenue dropping sharply.

The company has been rumored recently to consider allowing another tech giant to take over its operations, in an attempt to return to profitability, and Acer was one of the possible candidates for this.

However, it appears that the computer maker does not plan on making such a move. However, more details on the company’s plans for the future will be unveiled next week by the new Acer CEO himself, namely Jason Chen.
