Acer might be better known for all of its consumer products, but it definitely maintains a presence on the professional IT market, as proven by its newest desktops featuring the USFF and SFF form factor.

The desktop systems on the professional market put emphasis on different things that the ones for consumers.

While the latter, especially gaming machines, are focused on prowess and aesthetics alike, business and enterprise-oriented systems have different priorities.

Office desktops in particular put little emphasis on performance, being more concerned with efficiency, both in terms of operation and space.

Acer just unveiled the Veriton L4610G and the Veriton X2110, which feature Intel-based and AMD-based hardware configurations, respectively.

The latter has the AMD Athlon II X2 260 CPU at the heart, backed by up to 8 GB of RAM, a HDD (up to 500 GB storage) and the NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE graphics. All the hardware is packed inside a SFF (small form factor) case.

Meanwhile, the Veriton L4610G uses an Intel Core i3 or Core i5 processor, along with 2 or 4 GB of RAM, 320 GB of HDD storage and a Mini PCI Express 1.1 slot, all inside an USFF (ultra small form factor) enclosure. The available graphics is that contained in the CPU itself.

"Companies and institutions today require efficiency in all matters, which includes their computing systems," said Leila Axelle Robert, Acer Commercial Systems Business Manager.

"Our Veriton desktops are engineered to provide solid return on investment with room for upgrades, the ability to deftly multitask as well as maximize desk and office space. Designed with powerful components and leading technologies, the newest desktop models have the performance for smoothly handling demanding commercial applications."

Unfortunately, the official press release has the Veriton L4610G priced at $599 and the Veriton X2110 at $379. It also mentions that both machines are backed by 3-year warranties.
