14 DAY TRIAL // Acer's Veriton line of commercial desktops is part of the company's tactics meant to help it rise from the ashes, so to speak, after consumer desktops and laptops continued to fail it. There are now two more series to gaze upon.
The Veriton Series is, in general, aimed at small business owners and IT professional administrators who want a better than average system that is, nonetheless, not too bulky.
One of the two new lines in this collection is called Veriton 2 and comes in mini tower (Veriton M) and small form factor (a third of the size) design.
In both cases, it has a Haswell central processing unit, an energy-efficient Energy Star 5.2 compliant design, and a PCI Express x16 add-in graphics card, or at least a slot available to hold one.
The Veriton M also has a pair of PCI Express x1 slots, a PCI slot, two 5.25-inch external drive bays, and four 3.5-inch bays.
The Veriton X has a single 5.25-inch bay from what we can see, and probably just two 3.5-inch bays inside, but it should be enough for most things, especially since an add-in graphics card still fits.
Moving on, Acer also introduced the Veriton 4, which comes in the same Veriton M mini tower and Veriton X small form factor chassis designs.
It has better security though, and enhances “manageability and performance” thanks to DVI-D, VGA, and dual DisplayPorts (triple-display support), TPM 1.2 compliance (corporate-level security), a motherboard with 100% solid capacitors, and a cable management system. There's USB 3.0 support too of course.
All newcomers have Acer eLock Management password protection, Acer eSettings Management (intuitive interface for configuration and control of the system), Acer PowerSaver (self-explanatory software really), and Acer SmartBoot (automatically loads frequently used programs in the system tray at start up).
The starting price of the Acer Veriton 4 and 2 Series is of $449 / €499. A limited one-year or three-year warranty and service warranty is included depending on configuration.
