Acer announced today a new design for its line of Aspire M5, M3 and X3 desktop consumer PCs. Following HP's recent announcement about the updated lines of desktop consumer PCs, the new desktop computer systems from Acer come to provide users with an alternative computing solution prior to the debut of the 'Back to School' shopping season. According to Acer, the new desktops deliver a new design and an overall better performance and user experience.

Kicking off with the Aspire M5800 series, Acer will now provide its users with choices for an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 processor, clocked at 2.66GHz, paired with 8GB of DDR3 memory, an NVIDIA GeForce GT230 graphics card with 1.5GB of discrete graphics memory, a 750GB SATA hard drive, a Super Multi DVD optical drive, 802.11 b/g wireless, a multi-in-one card reader, eight USB 2.0 ports, IEEE 1394, HDMI ports and USB-powered Stereo Speakers. This series is designed for entertainment and everyday productivity applications.

Built inside a black tower chassis, the new M3800 series will be powered by an Intel Pentium E5200 processor, 4GB of DDR3 memory, integrated Intel X4500 graphics, a 640GB hard drive, a DVD SuperMulti optical drive, a multi-in-one card reader, eight USB 2.0 ports, IEEE 1394 and HMDI ports and the same USB-powered stereo speakers, Acer USB keyboard and USB optical mouse.

The last of the three, the X3810 series, comes with a compact chassis and is designed for a multitaksing performance, according to Acer. The system packs the same E5200 processor as on the M3800 series, coupled with 4GB of DDR3 memory, integrated Intel graphics, 320GB storage space, nine USB 2.0 ports, a multi-in-one media card reader, IEEE, HDMI, and eSATA. Unlike the first two, this configuration will be available with an Acer 20-inch Widescreen LCD monitor.

All systems have been featured with a Windows Vista Home Premium operating system and are already available for an MSRP of $799,99, $449,99 and $529,99, respecitvely.
